App getting worse for opening gigs
Okay, I am sure Gigwalk staff knows we are unhappy with new app. And we are having trouble to open a gig when we tap on it. But 2 hours and 20 minutes of me tapping my gig to open it is ridiculous. How do you expect us to complete multiple gigs with this bug? I still can't open my gig and deadline is in 2 hours to finish it. I am furious right now. I could have finished 8 or 10 gigs by now.
Also, new app is eating space like a fat kid eating cake at a bakery with unlimited cake given to them. Problem I discovered is if you had old app installed then did the forced update... You have TWO Gigwalk apps on your device. And if your camera is set to put pictures you take to sd card, it goes to hidden file in internal space AND SD card. This new version is not working right.
There are errors when trying to apply to a gig (access denied..??), the geo locator is not working right (I have litterally taken 50 photos for 1 question because of this feature and yes all my settings are correct.)... Let's see.. Notifications are super late...up to 2 days late. Even for receiving the emails about notifications from the app. So people cannot correct their work like before because of this. That is another bug... If a QA Rep says please fix x y z and reopens gig, sometimes its in available section for someone else to pick up when it shouldn't be. Can't copy and paste links written in gig description needs to be fixed too (not bug but still annoying). Timer says you have 23 hours remaining but then the gig disappears from your upcoming work list. Never was unassigned either and no mail stating it was unassigned. The timer in available section is wrong too. It can say overdue and you look inside to find its available for 9 more days. Please techs...fix these things. This is important not just to gigwalkers but for life of the company.

I have the same problem in that I cannot select any gigs. Tapping on the doesn't seem to register, and I don't have 2+ hours to spare to select a gig. Running on latest Android w/ Samsung Galaxy S9+

The only temporary solution I've found is by using Android 4.4.2. Select gig to apply then wait. Stay logged into the device you want to use and wait for notifications to pop up. Then open gig througn notifications. Before driving to location open the gig clicking continue and try to take a photo of anything for storefront to make sure app doesn't crash. If it doesn't then go to the gig site to try and complete the gig.
I hope they fix this by tomorrow. I've lost a lot of money waiting for a fix. 😭😭
Make sure to submit a ticket to the support team so they know its more than just a couple people affected.

Can't select and apply for gig. Log off and back in and Reinstalled app and still not able to apply for gig. So not sure what to do.

I am also not able to click on any of the gigs in my area to apply. I was able to apply to two last week, but only after clicking each gig approximately 30 times before it opened. Would love if someone could fix this bug!

Thanks Jordan. So far, it appears to be Android 6.0-9.0, unless someone with 6.0 can confirm it works for them. There is an update that was posted last night. Try the update and post here if it works or did not work. For my Android 7.0 it didn't. 🙈 I am scared to update my old tablet lol.

It's not fixed yet. I'm on Android 8. I've managed to apply for a couple of gigs but can't get them to open to compete them.

Philip: once you are approved for a gig you can access it through the notifications page in the app.

@gigwalk The assignment says submitted successfully but many times its still open. You have to open it through notifications again then submit it again. I went through this since the last app update.

Well my Lg stylo 3 is no longer opening them.
Although an old Samsung J7 running Android 7.1.1 is working
My samsung S9 is running Android 8 same with my LG Stylo 3.0 -

Anyone bored while waiting for a fix? 😂 I know I am... Not many gigs so far.
As for the android issue it works fine on android 4.4.2 ... Just a hit or miss with the rest it seems.

Still. I only was able to open my first gig and complete it. I've done everything they told me to do multiple times nd more. I even tried making another profile on my husbands phone but to no avail. And I still haven't been paid for that gig done Jan 5th. Threatening to delete my gigwalk but still getting a response of "we are trying to fix the bugs on our app" Am still working other apps thst are so reliable and can't understsnd why this company can't get it together. Are they using 5th grsders to fix their app. Sorry for the sarcasm but I'm getting fed up.

The old app didn't have these problems Beth. They just rolled out this new one which still has problems it seems. As for payment the client has 14 days to review your work. If they don't then on the 16th day it should auto payout.
What other apps you use may I ask?

I thought I read 6 days so thats ok. I use Mobee which is fun and always works, Easy Shift and Field agent. I started woth Field Agent last week and have racked up $120. It would be more but road conditions have kept me from getting out. Oops I gave my secret away hope you are not in the Westrrn PA area. What other apps are our there and good to use. These other are fairly easy.

I cant click on a gig to open it, either. But if you click on the dot on the map of the gig and zoom ALL the way in, you can apply for it. Cannot do the same to cancel, if needed, though...

No Beth you are safe.
Summer you are lucky because mine doesn't do that 90% of the time. It just acts dumb and keeps trying to zoom even if I hold my finger on the dot.

I can zoom in and get the job details but once I click apply I get a message stating the job is unavailable. It is very frustrating! What was the reason they force updated the old app? I have not been able to complete a gig since before Thanksgiving.

I'm not really sure nichole but I do miss the old one very much. They just updated again and you can finally select the gig by tapping it without the need of notifications or using an old device. If you haven't updated since after the 15th go try the update.
